Resume of Bettie Corbin Tucker 

 

Early Background: Raised in Morgantown, WV Attended Business College and also pursued a Bachelor’s Degree from Southeastern College in Florida. Married John R. Tucker and we moved to the Pittsburgh, PA area where, after obtaining a degree in Engineering, my husband went to work for United States Steel. We have two children—a son and daughter who are now adults.

Early Career in Morgantown: Worked as an office secretary at the United Fund of Monongalia County, a confidential secretary for an attorney in Morgantown, WV and an administrative assistant at West Virginia University.

Career in Pittsburgh, PA:  Pursued writing career. I wrote for a Christian newspaper, churches, and Amazon as a Vine Reviewer. Founded my own publishing company in 1983 with my husband and we published the works of over 70 authors. I self-published two of my own books and they did very well. I have been published by major publishing companies such as Baker Book House and CSS Publishing. I dissolved my publishing company in 2000 so I could concentrate on my own writing full-time. I appeared as a frequent guest on national TV and radio to promote my work. I held yearly writing workshops in the Pittsburgh area as well as participated in a writing seminar as an instructor at a local college. For one year I hosted my own radio show with emphasis on childhood sexual abuse. This resulted because of the publication of my book on the subject of such abuse which Focus on the Family purchased in bulk and sent to prisons throughout the United States.

I ran a professional book reviewing service from 2000 for approximately ten years. During this time I engaged five to seven professionals to help with this service.
